Full Biography
SNYL (aka Ferenc Topa) broke onto the global scene in 2020 after winning the Sincopat remix contest for AFFKT’s "Bac", which led to his first release on the label and a track that spent over a year in Sincopat’s Top 10. But his story begins much earlier. Growing up near Budapest, he was influenced by a mix of early techno, Eurodance, hip-hop, and progressive rock. Under the moniker ZRG, his first track was released on the Hungarian CD compilation The True Sound of FreeE in 2004. Soon after, he licensed more tracks for the Hungarian Techno Only compilations, landing remix work for top Hungarian producers and DJ invitations abroad, including Genova and Corfu.
As his sound evolved, Ferenc explored the slower, more melodic side of electronic music. Under various aliases, especially Reelaux, he released over 100 tracks and remixes on labels like Natura Viva, Nervous Records, Pacha, Perfecto, and many more. These releases gained him recognition in the house/progressive world, with support from DJs such as Hernán Cattáneo, Paul Oakenfold, Sonny Fodera, and DJ Dan. The SNYL alias was launched in 2017 with a remix for Kamilo Sanclemente’s Anthe. Since then, his productions have found homes on respected underground labels including Maccabi House, Katermukke, JEAHMON, SCI+TEC, Selador, Einmusika, and so on. His music has repeatedly hit the Beatport Indie Dance Top 100, climbing into the Top 10, while drawing heavy support from Solomun, Innellea, Vintage Culture, Yotto, Township Rebellion, and Dubfire, who has named SNYL among his favorite producers.
On stage, SNYL has brought his future-retro indie dance and melodic techno to crowds worldwide: from Mexico City, Ibiza, Cairo, and Amsterdam (ADE) to Berlin’s legendary Kater Blau and KitKat Club, where he’s become a regular guest. Whether in the booth or in the studio, his distinctive mix of 80s-tinged drums, modern synths, and peak-time grooves creates a sensory experience that connects body and soul.
